What is the Art of Living? The Art of Living Foundation is a volunteer-based nongovernmental organization that was founded in 1981 by Indian yogi Ravi Shankar. Today, there are over 156 of these centers spread throughout the world. Its mission is to create a peaceful world through meditation, yoga, and breathing techniques. Among other things, it advocates nonviolence and encourages people to make a positive impact on the world.
